Terms of Service
DRAFT — a starting point for the tasted.ly team, not yet reviewed by a lawyer. Replace the placeholders (company name, address, governing law) and have it reviewed before going live.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using tasted.ly ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, since the Service is about tasting alcoholic beverages, cigars, coffee and chocolate. We verify this at registration and may ask for it again if we have reason to doubt it.
3. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity on your account. Tell us right away at contact@tasted.ly if you suspect unauthorized access. You may enable two-factor authentication in your profile for extra security.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the tasting notes, ratings and other content you post. By marking a note "Public" or sharing it via a link, you grant other viewers (and, for public notes, anyone) the right to view it through the Service. You're responsible for what you post — don't post anything illegal, defamatory, or that you don't have the right to share. We may remove content that violates these terms or the law.
5. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service: no scraping or automated bulk data collection, no attempting to break authentication or security controls, no impersonating others, no using the Service to harass, spam, or distribute malware.
6. Alcohol and responsible use
tasted.ly is a tasting-notes tool, not an encouragement to consume alcohol irresponsibly or underage. Please drink responsibly and follow the laws that apply to you.
7. Termination
You can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time (see our Privacy Policy for how). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Tasting notes and product information are submitted by users or drawn from a shared catalog and may contain inaccuracies — don't rely on them for allergen or safety information.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, tasted.ly and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll let you know about material changes before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
